Lunch in St. Anton am Arlberg: Omaela's tips

After the first few hours on the fresh piste (or off-piste), a midday snack is urgently needed in order to still have the power for great turns in the afternoon. On the Arlberg you will find good restaurants run by the mountain railways, but also great ski huts with a very special flair. Here are Omaela's tips for lunch.

MooserWirt St. Anton

The Mooserwirt, what else. Very good & very expensive - the Mooserwirt is guaranteed to keep its promises! For lunch there are many different (delicious) burgers and other dishes. Not quite cheap, but really good. And if you want, you can stay right there and move on to the legendary après-ski in the afternoon: DJ Gerhard has been playing here for over 25 years and is (guaranteed!) to get the party started. Whether this will be possible this year due to Covid, we unfortunately don't know ourselves yet. But we hope that the typical MooserWirt après-ski will soon be possible again in the usual manner, as for many this is also part of a perfect ski day on the Arlberg.

Arlberg Thaja

In St. Christoph: the cosy Thaja. We love this ski hut, which was newly renovated just a few years ago, for its unique jacket potato with pulled pork or its delicious soups. And another tip: Visit the full moon parties after a full moon ski tour on the Galzig.

Sennhütte

The Sennhütte with Markus and Tanja is traditional and familiar: the Sennhütten-Pfandl or Kasspatzln are hot tips here, as are the (sometimes even home-distilled) schnapps and liqueurs to finish off the meal. And in the afternoon there's a cosy après-ski atmosphere: live music is on the programme 7 days a week (don't hesitate to ask host Martin about legendary performances by the "Arlberg Buam").

Sonnegg Restaurant

A hot tip especially for our guests in the Omaela Apartments: the Sonnegg restaurant, just a few metres away, right next to the Nasserein cable car: the Hafele family's food is super tasty and also in a very great ambience. When the weather is nice, you can sit in the sun, enjoy an Aperol and forego any more turns in the afternoon ;) It's only a few steps to the flat...

Wok & more at Rendl

The Rendl is always a good spot for wedeling, on and off the slopes. But the mountain restaurant is also to be recommended: Great panorama and a very good wok! Another advantage at the Rendl? In spring you can chill out here after dinner at the "Rendl Beach", enjoy the sun (don't skimp on the sun cream here!) and watch the girls and boys do their daring tricks in the snow park.

Wagner Hütte

During a winter walk in the Verwall, the Wagnerhütte inn is definitely worth a visit. Whether on foot, on cross-country skis or by bus: as a reward, a wide variety of delicious spaetzle options await you at the Wagnerhütte.
